Kobe Lutjens Elementary Principal

About Me

My name is Kobe Lutjens, and I began serving as the Elementary Principal at Rock Valley during the 2025–2026 school year. I’m proud to be a Rock Valley alum—I attended Rock Valley Elementary and graduated from Rock Valley High School in 2017.I went on to earn my degree in Elementary Education from Northwestern College, with endorsements in Special Education and Coaching. During my time there, I was also a member of the football team for four years. I began my teaching career at Boyden-Hull Elementary, where I taught for two years before returning home to Rock Valley Elementary. Over the next two years, I taught third grade and then fourth grade. Alongside teaching, I’ve coached junior high boys’ and girls’ basketball, and I currently coach football for Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley. My wife, Kylie, is a Certified Public Accountant at Van Bruggen and Vande Vegte here in Rock Valley. We are blessed with a son, Ryker, who keeps us smiling every day. As principal, I am committed to promoting our core values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Grit, and You Matter in everything we do. When students feel safe, supported, and know they matter, they are empowered to achieve great things. I’m excited to walk alongside our students, staff, and families as we build a school community where every child can rise to their full potential.
