Sixth Grade Science Fair

On Tuesday, April 28, the
science students of Miss Schwien shared their knowledge of various topics in the sixth
grade science fair. The 38 exhibits were both interesting and educational.
Visitors included other students, teachers, parents and friends. Six
community persons acted as judges. The results were as follows:
First place: Kimberly Johnson (The Human
Eye); Second Place: Krystal Den Boer (Water Purification); Third Place (tie):
Greg Rardin (Static Electricity), Cortni Van Hill (Electricity), and Kayla Van Maanen (The
Five Senses); Sixth Place: T.J. Helmus (Chemical Reactions); Seventh Place
(tie): Josh Hansen (Optical Illusions) and David Vonk (Earthquakes); and Ninth Place
(tie) Mandy Wallenburg (Clocks), Lucas Leloux (Waterfalls) and Crystal Beyer (Acids and
Bases).
Honorable Mention: Justin Van Driel
(Skateboards), DeidreVan Driel (Rainbows), Brant Jacobs (Roller Coasters), Ben De Ruyter
(Animal Adaptations), Alissa Vande Vegte (Soil Erosion), Matt Wichers (Black Light),
Jennifer Gacke (The Eye), Kayla Vande Vegte (Smoking), Amber De Weerd (Inertia) and Jacque
Molenaar (Tornadoes).
