Elementary Students Celebrate Homecoming

Crayons

The students at Starkweather Elementary celebrated Homecoming with an event-filled afternoon on Friday, October 9, 1998.  The festivities began with games for all the students.  Sixth graders served as team captains, with students of all ages on each team.  Teachers were stationed around the playground ready to challenge the students with fun activities such as Candy Treasure Hunt, Shoe Scramble, and Popcorn Bag Relay.  After all the teams had tried each activity, all students were awarded a treat for super efforts and great teamwork.
After the games, the classes marched downtown where they participated in the Homecoming parade.  Each class had chosen a them such a "Bag the Pioneers" or "Sock It to 'Em" which they carried out with appropriate costumes or clothing items.  It was a fun way to catch the Homecoming spirit.
