Students Say Farewell
to Principal Jerry Starkweather

Crayons

Students, teachers and staff at Rock Valley Elementary School spent the final day of classes, Saturday, May 31, 1997, paying tribute to Principal Jerry Starkweather on their final day together.  After 25 years as principal at Rock Valley, Mr. Starkweather was honored in a variety of ways by the students.  One class chose to prepare a "test" for him to see if he could qualify for retirement.   Another class used the letters of his name to share their memories.  Another group rewrote the words of a familiar song to express their feelings.  A highlight of the morning was the announcement of the computer lab being named Starkweather Computer Lab in honor of Mr. Starkweather.  Mr. Starkweather has made a lasting impression on the children and staff of Rock Valley Elementary and he will truly be missed.
