Mr. Weber's Students Visit River Valley

Crayons

On February 8, 1999, Mr. Weber's fifth grade class went to River Valley to complete a Kid Kindness Campaign project.  Earlier, Mrs. Witte, a teacher at River Valley, visited our classroom and talked about different kinds of disabilities.  Our class went to her classroom and worked with kids with special needs.  Their ages ranged from ten to fifteen.  First, we had an ice breaker.   Then Mrs. Witte gave us a choice of one to ten M&Ms.  For each M&M we took we had to tell something about ourselves.  Next, we got into small groups of two to three people.  Together we made animals using hearts.  Everybody was pretty creative.  We learned how to work as a team.  It was a good experience for everyone and we had lots of fun.
