On February 11, 1999, the first
grade classes completed their kindness project. Mrs. Dirksen, Mrs. De Zeeuw, and
Mrs. Polich accompanied the first graders to the Rock Valley Senior Citizen's
Center. The students sang songs they had learned at school, handed out Valentines
they had made at school, and placed spring centerpieces on the tables that they had
assembled, too. The senior citizens really seemed to enjoy the first graders' visit
and even sent some yummy cookies for the first graders to enjoy.
