"Dream Team" Members Shoot for Books

Students have had an exciting
opportunity this basketball season. They have been able to earn a chance to have
their names drawn for a "Dream Team" by passing Accelerated Reader tests in the
computer lab. During selected home games, winners of the "Dream Team"
drawings have been allowed to shoot for books during half time. Students have been
awarded a free book for every five baskets the team makes in 30 seconds. Students
at Starkweather Elementary have read and taken Accelerated Reader tests over more than
2,600 books in the first four months of the school year, and that number continues to grow
every day.
