Community Schools
Our schools provide foundational academics and skills necessary for life's journey.
Developed to meeting the academic and developmental needs of our students, Rock
Valley Community Schools have an enrollment of 600 students. Staff members work
collaboratively to offer a personalized approach to learning for each student.
Philosophy
and Goals
It is the philosophy of the Rock Valley Community
Schools to provide an orderly, safe, caring and nurturing environment. Our graduates
will demonstrate a mastery of learning which will be appropriate to their learning levels.
In addition, our graduates will develop socially, emotionally and physically in
order to function in a democratic society.
The goals of the Rock Valley Community Schools are:
To provide the student with an
opportunity to develop mental, physical, emotional and social skills so they may take part
in a democratic society.
To provide practical experiences
through a high school student's education so that they may be responsible citizens of
their communities.
To enable students to adapt to a
rapidly changing society.
To encourage and provide for
lifelong learning which may be of benefit to the student.

District Mission
The Rock Valley School District is committed to
providing all students with educational opportunities to achieve their optimum potential
as citizens of a global society.
Communication
Home-school communication is an integral
component of the Rock Valley School District. Open houses, newsletters, progress
reports, e-mails, phone calls and parent-teacher conferences are a few examples of how
staff and parents maintain communication throughout the year.
Instructional Staff
There
are approximately 75 people employed by the Rock Valley Community School system. The
administrative staff is headed by a superintendent and is comprised of two school
principal's - one at the elementary school level and one at the jr./sr. high level.
The instructional staff includes teachers, counselors and librarians with about
twenty-five percent having advanced degree work.
Support services personnel include a nurse, secretaries, aides, food service workers,
bus drivers, custodians and maintenance employees. Many local residents also work as
substitute teachers or volunteer with our school system.
